As an educator, my goal is to help students become well-rounded individuals equipped with the skills they will utilize throughout their lives. Therefore, my classroom will be a safe and welcoming learning environment, where all students are encouraged to share ideas, explore new concepts, and think outside of the box. I will strive to push my students out of their comfort zone by scaffolding and differentiating my lesson plans. I firmly believe that every student is capable of learning, and I want to foster an early love of learning to help their confidence flourish. Mistakes are welcome in my classroom since these are often times for greater discoveries. Collaboration will be another key element in my classroom. This will not only generate a strong sense of community, but students will learn how to work as a functioning, productive team when problem-solving. It is my hope to have students leave my classroom with the skill-base for jobs that do not yet exist and better prepared to take on the problems of tomorrow.
